We would like to thank our wonderful customers for another great year at Food Fiesta!! Wishing you all a tasty, joy-filled year!
Out with the old and in with the new...
Feliz Año Nuevo!!!
Every year the Food Fiesta family gets great fun out of our local school fairs! Our three boys attend Monkstown Educate Together National School, Kill Avenue, and Newpark Comprehensive, Blackrock, respectively, and so the whole family gets to enjoy TWO very special festive days full of fun, Christmas magic and -most importantly- opportunities to support our two fantastic public schools!
So, if you're local, why not come along this Saturday to the Newpark Christmas Market. The Christmas Raffle prizes include a fabulous Food Fiesta Spanish Hamper, packed with gorgeous gourmet goodies, worth over €100! Raffle tickets are just €2...try your luck!
And on Sunday, we have a stall at the METNS Winter Market, selling our Spanish turrón and lots of other foodie delights. We've got all your gourmet foodie gifts sorted, sweet and savoury. And our paella kits too!
If you're local and you fancy dropping in, the details are below...
Christmas isn't Christmas without some gorgeous almond-y turrón! ¿Verdad?

It's that time of year again!
If you want to try your luck this Christmas, pop down to our stall in Dun Laoghaire any Sunday between now and December 18th and get your Spanish Christmas lottery tickets. And some for your family and friends too!
Everybody plays the same number... and it's a good one this year! If we win, we ALL share the prize.
We're the only sellers of "participaciones oficiales" in Ireland. Our tickets are printed especially for us by the "Administración de Loterías y Apuestas del Estado" in Pla del Palau, Barcelona!
P.S. If you can't make it to the market, email or call Jaime and he'll sort you out!
P.P.S. ¡Que la suerte te acompañe!
Well, hello there, lovely people! ¡Hola!, ¿qué tal? It's been far too long. Our bad, we know, and we're sorry. Things just got so crazy busy over here that we didn't have time to think...let alone update the blog!
We know you'll forgive us though, because you always do. Because you *get* it! You know we're a small business and we’re always adapting to change and new opportunities and, much as we might dream about cloning ourselves and taking on the world (not really!), there are onions to chop and parties to cater and market stalls to set up and take down, and, you know... rinse and repeat.
Anyway, better get updating...
Well, perhaps the biggest change since we last chatted here on the blog is that we closed down the Food Fiesta Café at the Cervantes Institute back in June. After a year and a half running the friendliest little Spanish café in town (if we do say so ourselves), we decided to wind down the extended pop-up experience and bid a fond farewell to Lincoln House and the Cervantes Team.
The Institute's footfall is sadly just not heavy enough for an eager-to-grow project like Food Fiesta and, since the Cervantes is a Spanish public institution, its hands are tied when it comes to making any significant changes. We will dearly miss our lovely, chatty customers; the teachers; the librarians and all the friendly hispanophiles that ate and drank our Spanish goodies there, day after day. We’ve received some truly heart-warming messages from our old regulars… ¡gracias, os echamos de menos sois los mejores!
We want to thank everyone who supported us in our café endeavour, especially our staff Florencia, Leire, Gabriel and Mauro -you guys were so great to work with...¡gracias!
So what are we up to now? Well, we're focusing all our efforts on these three things:
We hope you'll keep an eye out for us in Dun Laoghaire of a Sunday and make it your business to come and try some of our eye-rollingly delicious paella (if you're not hooked already) or one of our hearty soups or crunch-creamy croquetas, or a slice of our tortilla de patata…mmmm
And if you're planning a party (or your office is thinking of something awesome for Chrimbo), look us up! (just e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for a price list, or call Jaime on 0871893685).
We can also sort you out with turrón and sweet treats for gifting, paella kits, hampers and even Spanish Christmas lottery tickets (Lotería de Navidad!)… your Spanish Christmas spirit wouldn’t be complete without them!
Well, that's all for now, folks. Thanks for checking in with us, amigos.
Hola amigos!! Hello, blog, old friend! It's been much too long since we've posted here. Tut-tut!
Our social media accounts get updated almost daily, but the poor old blog gets put on the long finger, oops! We've just been too busy doing our foodie thing, you see. Have a gander at our Instagram feed...it's been mental!
So, what's new?... Marlay Park Farmers' Market is!!
We love farmers' markets!! We've tried a couple of lunchtime markets and a few festival style events but we've come to realise that they're not really our thing. We don't like the impersonal, fast-food, churn-it-out nature of those beasts; nope, we're much better suited to the chatty, leisurely, let's-be-friends vibe of the good old-fashioned farmers' market. (And our private catering engagements too, of course ;)
So, we're delighted that the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council market team has made room for us at Marlay Park! We're hoping to see you and your friends and families there one of these Saturdays for brunch, lunch or an early dinner!!
So now you know where to find us every weekend: Saturdays in Marlay Park, Dundrum-Rathfarnham, and Sundays in the People's Park, Dun Laoghaire!
Let me hear you say: blue skies!
The time has come! Our brand new Food Fiesta Café at the Cervantes Institute is launching!!
Calling all friends of Food Fiesta and friends of the Cervantes Institute: you are cordially invited to come along this Saturday and help us celebrate our opening and partake in some of our tasty wares.
We'll be open from 9:30am to 1:30pm and we'd love to see your friendly face and offer your some of our first-day freebies ;-) You'll be glad you came!
More details about our new location here.
And more about the Cervantes and its fantabulous array of activities (including a course on Mediterranean Diet by our very own Jaime Jambrina!) here.
Hasta el sábado -see you on Saturday- besos!
Happy New Year, amigos! The Food Fiesta team wishes all our lovely customers all the best for 2015! Thank you so much for your amazing support and custom throughout 2014. We're going to make 2015 even more awesome! So many exciting plans afoot. Ven con nosotros...! Besitos xox
