Well, hello there, lovely people! ¡Hola!, ¿qué tal? It's been far too long. Our bad, we know, and we're sorry. Things just got so crazy busy over here that we didn't have time to think...let alone update the blog!
We know you'll forgive us though, because you always do. Because you *get* it! You know we're a small business and we’re always adapting to change and new opportunities and, much as we might dream about cloning ourselves and taking on the world (not really!), there are onions to chop and parties to cater and market stalls to set up and take down, and, you know... rinse and repeat.
Anyway, better get updating...
Well, perhaps the biggest change since we last chatted here on the blog is that we closed down the Food Fiesta Café at the Cervantes Institute back in June. After a year and a half running the friendliest little Spanish café in town (if we do say so ourselves), we decided to wind down the extended pop-up experience and bid a fond farewell to Lincoln House and the Cervantes Team.
The Institute's footfall is sadly just not heavy enough for an eager-to-grow project like Food Fiesta and, since the Cervantes is a Spanish public institution, its hands are tied when it comes to making any significant changes. We will dearly miss our lovely, chatty customers; the teachers; the librarians and all the friendly hispanophiles that ate and drank our Spanish goodies there, day after day. We’ve received some truly heart-warming messages from our old regulars… ¡gracias, os echamos de menos sois los mejores!
We want to thank everyone who supported us in our café endeavour, especially our staff Florencia, Leire, Gabriel and Mauro -you guys were so great to work with...¡gracias!
So what are we up to now? Well, we're focusing all our efforts on these three things:
We hope you'll keep an eye out for us in Dun Laoghaire of a Sunday and make it your business to come and try some of our eye-rollingly delicious paella (if you're not hooked already) or one of our hearty soups or crunch-creamy croquetas, or a slice of our tortilla de patata…mmmm
And if you're planning a party (or your office is thinking of something awesome for Chrimbo), look us up! (just e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for a price list, or call Jaime on 0871893685).
We can also sort you out with turrón and sweet treats for gifting, paella kits, hampers and even Spanish Christmas lottery tickets (Lotería de Navidad!)… your Spanish Christmas spirit wouldn’t be complete without them!
Well, that's all for now, folks. Thanks for checking in with us, amigos.
